Kindergarten - 3rd grade students in Mrs. Keep's library class have been listening to the Nebraska Golden Sower Nominee Books this fall. They each vote for one book that is their favorite. All votes are submitted and the results of the winning books are released in May!
The 4th graders examined animal artifacts to understand how they could be used for everyday survival.
Geography students are finishing up the semester learning about different maps, how to read them, and how to use them. Todays lesson was on road maps.
Grandma got ran over by which reindeer?? The 6th graders figured it out! Today, these detectives used inferencing, reasoning, and evidence to write a claim proving which reindeer they each think ran grandma over!
Remember this Sunday….Attention softball pitchers!! Kynlee Marquez will be doing a pitching clinic at Elm Creek High School on Sunday, December 18th from 5 pm to 6 pm for 4th- 7th graders. Then from 6 pm-7 pm she will work with 8th-12th graders. This will be in the Vintage Gym. She will work with pitchers on grip, spin, mechanics, and mental approach to help you compete in the circle. We hope to see you there. We will need parent catchers so please come and help if you can.
At 6:30 tonight our High School Youth Group/FCS will be meeting to wrap Community Elves Gifts. Anyone that has gifts, if you could bring them in today that would be great. Mrs. Shoff will be in the office until 5:30 PM and gifts can be dropped off until 6:30 PM.
We do not have enough girls available to play JV on Friday night December 16th vs Bertrand. We will play all games in the High School Gym starting at 4:30. All games will be 4 quarters.

We are looking for Elm Creek High School Wrestling Tournament sponsors. It is $100 and you will get your name on the banner we will hang up for the tourney and send with the team the rest of the season. You will get two tickets to our hospitality steak lunch that day for being a sponsor. We are trying to get this tournament back where it needs to be with number of teams and competition. It starts with good food for coaches from my experience in the past. If you can help us out please do so. As of now I am planning on a regular school day tomorrow but I am checking conditions throughout the night. Sam and Buffy are helping.

The 8th graders are working on their text analysis skills by debating about self driving cars.
We are working on one-step equations in Intro to Pre-Algebra. Students are solving equations to put math symbol puzzles together.
The Bertrand and Elm Creek National Honor Societies are sponsoring a food drive at Friday’s Games. Bring food or a monetary donation for the food pantry to be entered in a drawing. Five winners will be drawn at half-time of the Boys Varsity Game to pie a volunteer in the face.
Shout out to Lane and Cody for finishing their assignments on linear inequalities and then helping answer questions that other students had trouble on.
Community Christmas Elves: We still have some tags left on our tree. Feel free to grab a couple while here for the Elementary Christmas Concert.
